About Us

Established in 2016 and inspired by the Sanskrit word manju, meaning beautiful, sweet, or pleasant, MANJU Journal is a digital platform, creative studio, and seasonal print publication championing African creativity across fashion, art, photography, design, and culture. The journal was conceived from the understanding that African narratives have long been marginalised or misrepresented, and exists to address this imbalance by prioritising and amplifying the work of African creatives, visual storytellers, designers, and writers. We believe in creativity as a catalyst for progress, shaping meaningful collaborations that give back to the communities we engage with.

Operating beyond the limits of a traditional media brand, MANJU functions as an evolving cultural platform dedicated to curating, commissioning, and nurturing creative work across digital, print, and live formats. Through in-depth storytelling and collaborative projects, our goal is to ensure that the plethora of rich art forms and creative disciplines emerging from Africa are given the visibility and recognition they deserve.
